Karl Larson

I work predominantly as an architect, but have been painting seriously since 1997. I'm a self-taught painter and mostly self-educated in the arts, in general. I concentrate on the human face specifically; expression, shadow, the full range of human emotion, and facial composition are what interest me more broadly. My latest work are a series of cross-stitch pieces that takes my previous work (in painting, drawing and scratchboard) and presents it in a new material and level of detail as well as extending/informing the process of making to a number of months rather than days or hours.
